Divers and dive boat skippers up and down the UK's coastline take to the sea safe in the knowledge that the RNLI and its mostly volunteer crews are at hand should an emergency occur.

Whether it's a disabled RIB drifting onto rocks or a more serious emergency requiring specialist assistance, the RNLI are on call 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. The institution relies on volunteer donations to fund its everyday operations to help maintain th RNLI safety at sea message.

As divers, we have a duty to help towards the huge running costs incurred in maintaining safety at sea; after all, we belong to a community likely to need the services.
