DIVER is no more.....
I'm sorry to have to announce that Rob was involved in a tragic diving incident on sunday the fourth of march, which claimed is life. While diving in Camel Quarry near Wadebridge at about 1 pm Rob surfaced from around 90m at far too fast a rate. This resulted in an extreme case of the bends from which he had little chance of surviving. He was taken by a helicopter from RNAS Culdrose to Derriford Hospital, Plymouth where he was pronounced dead. At the moment it is not known what caused him to surface so quickly, but there is to be an inquest into the incident.
The day in question had atrocious weather, Rob being the first of four people whoose lifes were claimed by the waterways of Cornwall and Devon in the space of less than 5 hours.
Rob leaves a partner Lucy, and three children, Max (7), Grace (nearly 5) and Jack 15 months. His funeral will be on friday the sixteenth of march at 2:30pm at Mawgan Church, then on to Penmount Crematorium for 4:00pm. All proceeds from the collection going to the RSPCC and the RNLI.
